Plastic bottles survey, a survey by the Association of PET resin (PETRA) commissioned disposable PET bottles in the life cycle environmental impact of less than aluminum cans or glass bottles.
        The survey conducted by Franklin Associates for using 20 oz PET bottles, the total energy consumption of 8 oz glass bottles or aluminum cans 12 ounces per 100,000 ounces of soft drinks, solid waste and greenhouse gas emissions compared. The survey said the results show that greenhouse gas PET bottles in the entire life cycle emissions, waste generation and energy are used less.
        When energy 10,000 12-ounce container of the same size, emissions and solid waste to compare the overall energy consumption is about the same. However, the greenhouse gas emissions of only aluminum cans PET bottles emissions 2/3, about half of the glass emissions.
        When comparing 12 oz PET bottles or aluminum cans and 12 oz 12 oz glass bottles, the solid waste generated in the former pounds less. However, the volume, the volume of solid waste produced cans for 16.5 cubic yards, PET bottles for 29.9 cubic yards, bottles of 37.3-44.1 cubic yards.
        The survey of plastic bottles using 20 oz PET bottles, 8 oz glass bottles and aluminum cans 12 ounces of 100,000 ounces of soft drinks after comparing concluded that PET bottles greenhouse gases emissions in the life cycle of less than 59 percent of aluminum cans over 77% less glass.
        The total energy consumption of PET bottles per 100,000 ounces of soft drinks 11 million BTU, aluminum cans for 16 million BTU, bottles for 26.6 million BTU.
        Total solid waste PET bottles produced for 302 pounds, 767 pounds of aluminum cans for glass bottles for 4457 pounds. Solid waste volume was 0.67 cubic yards PET, 0.95 cubic yards for aluminum cans, glass bottles for 2.14 cubic yards.
